Planning

On these web pages you can find assistance with many aspects of planning. The AQA offers a planning monitoring service that reviews proposed changes to regional policy statements and district plans.  As well as been sent to members directly, this information can be found on this website, along with an annual overview of known planning updates, information to help prepare a submission, and a link to the guidance note.

The AQA Planning Committee was the arm of the AQA that was instrumental in the establishment of the Guidance Note: Planning for the Aggregate and Quarrying Industry.  AQA worked in partnership with the Ministry for the Environment, Local Government New Zealand, regional and local councils, to develop the guidance note, which is a base of information that outlines the key matters in planning for quarrying, describes the main effects of quarrying and the methods available to manage these.

AQA members have access to this planning expertise; it is in place to assist you.  Planning Committee members can also provide a sounding board for AQA members who may have planning issues and need advice.  In the first instance contact Executive Director Roger Parton on roger@aqa.org.nz or 04-568 9123.
